I want to enjoy the various Green Lantern Series, but bloody hell, they’ve been an endless chain of bad Dragon Ball Z level multi-book event story arcs for the last five years.
I’m hoping the departure of Geoff Johns as writer fixes a lot of that. Or at the very least we might start seeing a story that’s not “Ancient Evil Force Never Mentioned Before Until the Very End of the Last Story Arc and More Powerful Than Every Other Villain Before Him, appears to threaten the galaxy, the Lanterns get their asses kicked, and dozens of background characters die, the Guardians do something to make things even worse, Guy, Kyle, and John get their asses kicked some more, and more background lanterns die, Goku Hal Jordan finally arrives on Namek Earth/Oa to beat the bad guy, story ends with a epilogue teasing the next big Ancient Evil Force Never Mentioned Before and More Powerful Than Every Other Villain Before Him.”
