Frankly, that the drama about the Goblin Slayer anime got so big caught me completely by surprise. As it’s basically an old argument that’s been around almost as long as LoTR has and was generally laughed off in the past. Though, the fact that all said drama actually accomplished in the end, is just show a bunch of people (that normally don’t even pay attention to anime/manga) that there’s some grim dark series, about a dude who really hates goblin, that can be turned into a endless source of new racist memes to taunt the very same people who got upset about it in the first place is quite predictable
